Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Frank J — 26 Nov 2009
First off, this is the movie that allowed me to meet Bruce Campbell (he also mocked me, twas great), so I am a little biased. Having said that, this is freaking hilarious. Everything (including the villain) is a great send up of the career of the titular Mr.
Campbell, whom directs and stars. He plays himself as a down-and-out washed up bitter man, very much against type, as he normally plays slightly bumbling, heroic types, and as a director, he keeps the jokes coming (some a little more successful for the uninitiated) steady and evenly.
The required love interest also gets some good laughs.
