Review of My Mother's Castle (1990) by Matthew F. J — 18 Aug 2009
This second chapter of the memoirs of Marcel Pagnol is beyond words these films have no big budget, no special effects but what a story and what a great cast! I have never seen such awesome films made with such simplicity and nevertheless they manage to pierce through your heart like a sharp arrow.
It might be because my own childhood was spend in the same part of the South of France but this film brings me to knees, my brain stop wondering , I just watch with delight the adventures of these beautiful people living a life that no longer exist.
A masterpiece...
