Review of My Mom's New Boyfriend (2008) by Barke S — 28 Mar 2009
My Mom's New Boyfriend isn't a terrible movie. It's pleasant enough. The actors are enjoyable. Meg Ryan still looks great in a bikini. Colin Hanks plays the uptight son well. Selma Blair looks great in lingerie.
Antonio Banderas is still charming as ever. It's just that this script is to bland to be farce and to much like a bad sitcom to be in the league of an intelligent caper comedy, like say, Duplicity.
What you get is a mild diversion at best. Still, I love seeing Meg Ryan on film, even after all these years.
