Review of My Man Godfrey (1936) by Jack W — 27 Dec 2011
âMy Man Godfreyâ? is a wonderful vehicle for William Powell one-liners. And along with the comedy comes a witty social commentary on class distinction and human dignity. Powell and the plot sparkle until the end, when he is uncharacteristically silent and Carole Lombard suddenly takes over for the out-of-character finish.
