While It's not for everybody, you have to admit how dedicated people are wanting this movie to exist. It wouldn't have happened if the 4th generation being successful and get a massive following.

The story is well, average. It's the same story we've heard a lot lately. While is predictable, it is trying to add more things to make it all fresh by adding more lively world to this land of Equestria. Not to mention, it holds up on certain parts that some might got shocked by.

The characters are the same as you know them from the TV show. They all play their role well in the movie and all have their own charming personality. Sure while the 6 main ponies are nothing original, they all have their moments to shine (both small and big). Even the celebrity characters are not that bad. Sure, you can say all of these characters don't get that much development, but once you get used to them, they are charming in their own ways.

The villains are nothing new, 2 of which don't stand out much. Though there's one villain that exceeded my expectation and it makes the movie had more depth into it. It might not have been all that grand but it's more fascinating when you really dig deep into it.

The animation is spectacular. With the software that is Toonboom Harmony, they're reallly put up their A game into this. It's like a mix of 2D and 3D animation, which is refreshing. Sure there're some parts that felt a bit odd, but not all that big of a deal to make it unwatchable. When it's done right, it definitely done right.

The songs are all catchy, fun, epic and inspiring. Sure, some of them can be dated with the pop and all that, but most of it are all orchestra to make it all the more epic. I noticed that some people think the songs are more forgettable part of the movie. To them I say, "What's your taste in music?".

Overall, it's a good movie. Could it have been better? Yes. They tried to play safe with this one, which is a shame, but you do realized that it's not trying to copy anything. It's inspired by the love of Saturday Morning Cartoons and the fun parts of the TV show of the 4th generation. Would I recommend this to everyone? Yes, but only for the fans who knew about the show. For the people who are not fans of the show might get lost on the movie all the way through, which will lend them to hate the film even more.
