Review of My Little Eye (2002) by Matthew M — 18 Feb 2012
It's a small, indie scare-fest, utilising its reality show style footage to tense effect and keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout. Evans controls the pacing well, counter-balancing moments of extreme fear with times of peace and normality, and the premise of the film is much more orginal than a thousand Hollywood horrors.
The murders won't much please gorehounds, but the distinct lack of over-the-top blood and guts allows the sense of atmosphere and tension to become more overwhelming - Evans isn't playing for torture porn here, but a more subtle and real style that becomes more nerve-racking and will have anyone checking their house before they go to bed.
