Review of My Life Without Me (2003) by Brian H — 23 Dec 2007
What a disappointment. The trailer was very promising and the premise sounded emotional and thought provoking. The film came across as a long, drawn-out student film. Scenes went on and on and turned out to have no ultimate purpose.
There were some funny moments and scenes that had the potential of reaching an emotional peak, but just droned on. I had little empathy or Ann because everything she did was incredibly selfish and would eventually hurt those around her.
I admired some of the acting, but overall the film is slow, overly sentimental, and lacks any kind of new ideas.
