Review of My Life Without Me (2003) by Auli H — 24 Jun 2010
My Life Without Me is not a gentle film. Insistent and unforgettable, it wounds on the inside, and the scars feel fresh for some time. its depressing, its uplifting, its life and death. A young mother leads out the remaining months of her life before she dies of cancer.
There will be tears, as ever polley is amazing she is the films glue. mournful but sublime drama told with honesty and delicate romanticism. wisely, never falls in the corny, mellifluous, silly procedure of some similar works.
Absolutely amazing, one of the most humane films I have seen in a long while!
