Nia Vardalos once showed great promise as a comedic actress and writer with "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" but since then has found no follow up success. "My Life in Ruins" is a dreadful film that relies heavy on romantic cliches and stereotypes, in the hopes of getting a few laughs out of an audience.
