Only O'Toole could have made an average tale of 50's television into a superior comedy. He adds class to the whole proceedings. O'Toole lost out his best actor Oscar to Ben Kingsley for his portrayal of Gandhi.
It just goes to show that comic roles are always overlooked for Academy Awards. See this film if you can!
