(1991) My Father's Glory.
(French with English subtitles).
ADVENTURE/ DRAMA.
The first of two films about a child's memoirs while experiencing the beautiful countryside. The second one being "My Mother's Castle" both films based on actual autobiographical novels by Marcel Pagnol about his own experiences while growing up. The narrator also narrates the story as a young boy as well.
Sometimes even a normal person such as myself want to just stay away from all that technology and chaos the city has to offer once in awhile because there is such thing as 'it's just too much'. All the attributes with city life can lead any normal person with more stress and more hard ache because of job and business deals. That one of few things a person can do to relieve stress could pehaps be is to visit the countryside. But this film is more than just about taking trips to the beautiful countryside which looks like a gorgeous painting at times like you'd see on a museum, the film deals also with the wonderful bond between the narrator and his ideological father.
I have to say this is one of the best films about country life I had ever seen. This film made me realize why some people miss those good old days when technology wasn't as important!!!
4/4.
