Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Chris N — 27 Oct 2009
I was a little bit disappointed. Audrey Hepburn is charming, she sings a couple of great songs, and the linguistic drills are quite delightful. Apart from this, I found many of the songs extremely boring (why did the dad have to be there? Why is the professor vaguely talking to the music instead of singing an actual song?) and there's almost no dancing.
As a musical it does not even come close to West Side Story.
