Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Scott K — 10 Sep 2010
Absolutely hated it. I had to see what film could possibly have beat out Mary Poppins, and yikes, I was disappointed. One of the slowest films I've ever watched. Good set design, but very weak story, no catchy tunes, and an absolute lack of meaning or theme made this a pointless viewing.
Random scenes where the cast would freeze for a moment were impressive, but pointless. Very unbelievable story. Complete lack of humor, except for the moments that you feel like laughing at how weak the film is compared to "Singin' in the Rain," which much of the storyline was stolen from.
Please avoid, it is not worth your time.
