Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Carlos R — 16 Sep 2010
Audrey Hepburn wass simply amazing and beautiful (I cannot understand why she wasn't even nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress). She is brilliant in every scene, we laugh, sing and cry with her.
Rex Harrison was very good too (However Peter Sellers was much better in Dr. Strangelove, so he didn't deserve the Oscar), with a truly hateble character, because I don't know if he was gay or something, but he seemed to really hate women.
The musical numbers are great, with good and funny songs. The costumes and art direction are over the top, and also the score. It was maybe a little bit too long but it surely is a great film and one of the best musicals of all time.
