Truly a cut above the average "family movie". Family movie film conventions are handled artfully and even the sentimental narration never slips into the eye-rolling realm. I like movies with heart, they just have to have a brain too.
This one does. Kevin Bacon and Luke Wilson are both good in their supporting roles.
