Review of My Dinner with Andre (1981) by Steve M — 10 Dec 2011
It's a film I entered with optimism and came out disappointed but not surprised. It's not the plot but the screenplay. The conversations between Andre and Wallace are some of the most dry, pretentious load of crap I've ever heard.
Like they know the world and everyone else is wrong. There's some moments where I guess it tries to be funny but fails miserably namely stage talk. This is not 12 angry men where the dialog is fascinating and engaging but rather the conversations at family reunions where you pretend to care but you could care less.
Not worth sitting through.
