Review of My Dinner with Andre (1981) by Daniel K — 21 Jul 2011
Though I get the uniqueness of it and there are some really charming moments of acting and general Woody Alleniness, I have to say that at the end of the day it is mainly talking heads and at times quite archaic talking heads, which is not very cinematic and at times boring.
I couldn't help thinking that Jim Jarmush's Coffee and Cigarettes is a funnier, more interesting and more engaging version of this sort of idea.
I am glad, however, that I saw it, if only to be able to finally make the connection of the endless references to this film I came across on other films television and of course Community.
