Review of My Cousin Vinny (1992) by Jordan P — 14 Mar 2010
Pretty darn funny courtroom comedy that, despite its premise, actually treats the South with respect. Amused respect, but respect nonetheless. The culture clash is very funny and Joe Pesci is manically hilarious, as usual.
And even though Marisa Tomei's performance is very good, I'm not sure why she won an Oscar for it. Had there never been saucy Yankee wenches in films before? I also really enjoyed seeing Fred Gwynne as the stern southern judge.
An all-around good time--and you might learn something about cars.
