Review of My Cousin Vinny (1992) by Jonathan A — 13 Jan 2010
Two New York "yutes," wrongfully accused of murder while driving through Alabama, call upon the neophyte lawyer with his sassy fiance in tow to clear their names. "My Cousin Vinny" is American culture clash and legal comedy at it's finest, with some of the funniest lines and situations I've ever seen in a film of this kind.
Of course, my praise also speaks volumes for Joe Pesci doing what he does best and Marisa Tomei's well-deserved Oscar winning performance; she easily steals every scene she's in with her brash manner and "I-told-you-so" antics.
But they're also held up by a fine cast that does just fine in this serious but hysterical comedy.
