Review of My Cousin Vinny (1992) by Gustavmarkovic31 . — 11 Sep 2012
Hugely enjoyable and unexpectedly hilarous film, with joe pesci in better, more tasteful comedy than the home alones'. my cousin vinny is the truely spectacularly told story of two american boys accused of murdering a shop clerk in small town malabama, and enlist the help of one of the boys' cousins, obviously the one named vinny to help them in court.
profusely inexperienced and loud mouthed that vinny is, he is also sweet and charming, as his his fiancee of ten years (lol, great in-joke) coming along to help vinny, mainly bailing him out of jail because of his relentless use of contempt in court.
a hugely funny movie follows, with great side jokes, including the one about the towns' special food: Grits (which doesn't the name just put you off?) and Pesci and Tomei having very much trouble trying to find a peaceful place to sleep during their stay in the town.
the performances, from pesci and tomei, and the judge in particular, are truely brilliant, and should actually have been contemplated for oscar nominations at the least. highly recommendable, and I loved it from start to finish.
