Gentrification doesn't just happen. It's redlining, purposely planned and implemented by moneyed interests in collusion with government. Powerfully and poignantly exposes how wealthy investors operate in shadowy pseudo-governmental agencies like Economic Development Corporations to write, submit and pass rezoning and development plans that enrich themselves.
Government is complicit, with no regard for residents and small businesses who have made this the third most successful shopping district in New York City for decades.
