Review of My Boss's Daughter (2003) by Jess H — 25 Jan 2009
An absolute shocker that receives its one solitary star through the comedy it unintentionally generates. Ashton Kutcher plays the blandest character I've ever seen in a movie, who is terrified of his not-very-terrifying-boss Terence Stamp.
Kutcher has to mind his boss's house whilst controlling various annoying individuals and an owl that has recently rediscovered the happy knack of flying, whilst simultaneously getting with the said boss's daughter, a fractionally less bland Tara Reid.
The comedy itself is lame, the performances are abysmal and the supposed emotional scenes are hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Michael Madsen, an actor who makes Ray Winstone look positively nuanced, turns up to relieve himself on the carpet, while Carmen Electra stretches her acting ability to the limit by getting out her prized assets.
Pathetic.
