Review of My Blueberry Nights (2007) by Derek W — 21 Oct 2008
Aside from David Lynch I can't think of another director that brings such hypnotically rich and delicately sensuous combination's of sound and imagery to the screen quite like Wong Kar-Wai can and his first English language film My Blueberry Nights is no exception (at least on that end of the spectrum).
..the story however appears to be rather lost in translation and stretched thin thoughout...the women are just as stunning as one would expect from a Wong Kar-Wei film but the performances fall rather flat with lots of muddy dialogue to go along with the half baked romantic plot at it's core but it's still worth seeing for fans as the visuals are of course vintage Wong.
