Review of My Blueberry Nights (2007) by Jacky L — 17 Oct 2008
Read rather unfavourable reviews about WKW's directorial debut in tinseltown. thus rather pleasantly surprised at a rather delightful, accessible film on an ennui of a Saturday noon. Sure it wouldn't make one go 'wow' but it is a tender, sweet lil nugget of a film - I was expecting painful, can't-wait-for-it-to-be-over kinda pretentious shit.
The most heart wrenching 'story' that Lizzie came across must surely be the alcoholic cop and his ex-wife. One's heart threatens to break together with Rachel Weisz's when she asked Lizzie that favour - to keep Arnie's tab running, 'so they wouldn't forget him so fast.
