Review of My Blueberry Nights (2007) by Daniel C — 12 Nov 2010
Wong Kar Wai's first American movie brings together a well rounded cast of Oscar and Grammy nominees and winners to tell the story of a woman searching for something that's right in front of her.
As a movie itself, its a tedious viewing experience for anyone who's seen the majority of his other films and knows his craft. But that doesn't make it a bad movie.much to be said, I found it to be quite good.
The performances weren't great, but no one didn't do a bad job. Visually it's a treat. It's of course the best part of the film.although the script feels watered down from what Kar-Wai originally wrote due to the English translating.
I won't go into too much more about the movie. I haven't set myself on a positive or negative. But for now it's a positive. It's great, but not Wong Kar-Wai great.
