I love Kar Wai Wong's films.
As soulful and romantic an outing as any of his other brilliant beautifully visual love stories, there are even some shots during the day in what might be seen as a slight compromise to western standards.
By and large it's just what you'd expect, nowhere near as big or as ambitiously uncompromising as the masterpiece of 2046, in that way may prove a useful foot in the door to those less familiar with his work looking for a starter.
