Wong Kar Wai's visual sense is engaging, but it does not make an entirely great film. The two leading actors were not committed to their roles, although Portman, Strathairn and Weisz kept it interesting.
Shaky plot and frivolous message. It was like watching a 'movie' pretending to be a 'film.' There is not much depth here, although it IS very pretty.
