Review of My Bloody Valentine (2009) by Matthew M — 18 Sep 2011
Sure, "My Bloody Valentine" contains nothing you haven't seen in better, more well-known horror/slasher films, but it intelligently integrates these traits with a more modern, fresh twist, its tongue firmly rooted in its cheek all the way through.
You can argue that this usage of other techniques is blantant rip-off, yet Lussier, with his typical directorial flair, will say it's more homage than anything. However, regardless of anything, MBV uses 3D technology to brilliant effect, creating an immersive and never subtle kill fest that works for horror junkies and anyone else.
