I prefer the remake.
As with all horror movies of its time, the main problem is that it just hasn't aged well. I'm sure at the time it was a terrifying riot. However, now the violence plays out about as frighteningly as an episode of Strawberry Shortcake.
That being said, it was far better than the original Prom Night.
