Review of My Bloody Valentine (1981) by Tamatai N — 08 May 2010
Proof that, nine times out of ten, the original is far better than the remake, this is one of the most brutal, original and downright scary installments from the golden age of slasher films. The characters, the killer, the gore, everything makes for a perfect, by-the-numbers horror film that even manages to have a very intelligent twist at the end.
Some will say that this film is too formulaic, but you have to remember, this came from an era when this formula was new, and thus, very exciting. A must-see for any self-respecting horror fan.
