What a great sequel...some of the old, some of the new...maybe the problem people are having with this movie is that there is no Suspension of Disbelief, because this movie {subliminally} reminds us of every major family get together we've ever been to.
..ever...the same stories, the same jokes, the same annoying relatives. But by letting that sameness overwhelm the big picture, we sometimes miss the new stories and jokes (the annoying family member will always be annoying!) It's the lovely blending of the old and new, giving us the time to appreciate both.
If you walk into this movie expecting to be disappointed, let down, and even more bitter by the time it's done...guess what? You will by! But if you walk in ready for a light hearted, don't-take-yourself-so-seriously comedy, that's what you're going to get.
.. (that change of attitude just *might* you through that next cringe worthy family get together!)... .
