This movie was pretty much exactly what I expected, a pleasant, funny movie that didn't match the charm of the original because, really, how could it. I am Greek, so I took my mom. We noted the bad reviews it had gotten, but other Greek friends had enjoyed it, so we went.

It was fun, like catching up with family you haven't seen in a while. I enjoyed seeing Toula's family again and getting to know her daughter. The jokes were funny and not too silly or slapstick.

I enjoyed the relationship between Toula and her daughter and also, Toula and her mother. Overall, it wasn't a great movie, but considering what else is out there, it was a pleasant afternoon. My mom plans on taking her husband to see it too.
