Review of My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) by Alysia V — 05 Jan 2010
I can't help but give this movie a ten, simply because it holds such great memories for me. I've seriously grown up watching this movie and cannot tell you how many times I've seen it (and still love it!) In fact, it came on television recently & I found myself having to stop & watch the entire thing through, still not tired of it.
It's got such a fun cast that blends together so well. Rupert Everett makes this movie, for me. His character is completely fantastic and loveable and makes me want a friend just like him. Every scene with him in it is a great one! Dermot Mulroney is a handsome chamer in this one, also, and Julia Roberts, who I typically am pretty neutral on, is wonderful in this movie! I think this is one of my favorite roles of hers and I just adore her in it.
This movie is sad, it's sweet, it's funny, it's charming, it's memorable. At least for me. One of my favorite romantic comedies!
