My All American is a cheesy sports film. It follows all of the sports movie cliches. Finn Wittrock is good as the lead character. I've liked him in American Horror Story, and I liked him in this film also.
Aaron Eckhart phones in his performance for most of the movie. He looks really disinterested throughout the film. I really like the girl who plays Wittrock's girlfriend. She was really good in her role.
The script is really cheesy. It heavily relies on sports movie cliches. You can guess most of the plot from the beginning. There were many times where this film felt like a TV movie. The story of Freddie Steinmark is an interesting one.
But the execution of this film is very poor.
