Review of Mutant Chronicles (2008) by Molly C — 08 Aug 2009
Although it does take place in an interesting world, this film only reminds me of all of the practical special effects that have been lost along the quest for cgi and along with it, the magic of movies.
They also bombard you with information through the whole film through narraration or dialogue instead of letting the story tell itself. There are some really cool steampunk aspects to the film like their flying submarine, but these only run surface deep and don't make much sense.
The "Machine" is very "Geiger" which again....could be cool if the plot and dialogue weren't so ridiculous. An interesting watch, but I took nothing away from the film.
