Review of Music Within (2007) by Enrico A — 26 Oct 2007
Sometimes when you need a change from all the blockbuster blow em ups and Halloween horror movies that seem to be coming out in a horde these days, Music Within does reel you in to experience a dose of real life, or at least things in life that make you feel good caring about.
While it told a good story, I never felt fully engaged in the movie. Richard, the main character, was able to relate to and tell the untold story of those close to him who had disabilities and while his influence may have helped the Americans Disabilities Act come to fruition, this fruit as told by this story didn't taste as sweet to me.
In contrast and for lack of a better comparison, I am Sam helped me to appreciate the struggles of those with disabilities even better than I've been able to experience in my own life in helping those with disabilities.
Nonetheless, it is a movie worth seeing because it definitely challenges ones comfort zone and that's always a good thing.
