Review of Music Within (2007) by Coral C — 25 Jun 2008
This would have probably been much better on a cable network, like "Ron Clark" or "Door to Door." It was underdeveloped enough for it to have made a bigger splash and attract more viewers on cable.
However, it was a sweet movie and did do the job of reminding me of just how recently the ADA was enacted. It was a little shocking at how much the mindset of "normal" Americans had to be shifted before my generation.
As for the actual story, it was just that cheesy to not be all that moving. There were way too many storylines going on here and it all made the movie feel a bit superficial. All that really kept me from turning the movie off and just Googling the story were the clever lines from Ron Livingston and Michael Sheen.
It's worth renting or watching on TV, but "To Kill a Mockingbird" it is not.
