Review of Music Within (2007) by Igor K — 14 Sep 2008
This movie covers a very important topic from humanity and solidarity for the disabled people and from that view it has a certain value. On the other hand from the cinematic view there are some variations in the quality.
First when I watched I had a Forrest Gumpish feel to it because of the beggining of the story, but after that it evolved in something else. The story is straightforward and it doesn't let you in on many occassions just like the Richard charachter: you see what is he doing but his emotions are rarely expossed.
This side of Richard compensates the brilliant Michael Sheen charachter. There are many funny scenes in the movie, but also very few real drama elements (and there are quite flat like the suicide attempt), but in the end this movie beside all this has a nice meaning to it.
