Review of Music of the Heart (1999) by Esther V — 23 Jun 2007
This has to be my favourite "inspirational teacher film" of all time. Meryl Streep is just beautiful in this sans-glam role (which she worked for three years towards, ironically) about a divorced woman who moves to Harlem with her two sons.
The rest of the cast is fabulous, and Gloria Estefan actually can act, as a pleasant surprise. The story is just so moving, and so beautiful. Definitely one for your collection.
