Review of Music of the Heart (1999) by Lucinda M — 11 Feb 2008
If it hadnt been for the writer's strike here I might never have watched this movie. This is based on a true story of a New York Violin teacher who contributes so much to the lives of Harlem kids by teaching violin.
I have always felt that when a child, or an adult for that matter, learns to do something, anything well, it can change their lives. Because any skill you learn teaches you how to do about anything you will want to do.
It is learning how to learn that is important. It isnt that these kids became famous musicians. It is the self confidence and beauty brought into their lives by music that was important and the fact that one person can do so much to help change the world.
Very enjoyable - you will not be bored for one minute.
