Review of Music of the Heart (1999) by Eric A — 19 Feb 2008
As a violin music geek wannabe and a teacher who started out with a calling to the inner city, what is there about this movie that I wouldn't love? I love that they really got Isaac Stern and Itzhak Perlman in the movie.
I don't even care whether that part was true. And bringing back the first kids all grown up -- that touches my teacher's heart. The only part I wish was done better was Meryl Streep's violin playing -- she looked terribly awkward.
But we all did the first time picking up a violin.
