Review of Music and Lyrics (2007) by Mikhail B — 12 Feb 2012
A written-off composer and also a member of an old and forgotten rock group unexpectedly gets inspiration from a girl who takes care of his flowers and just happens to have a talent for writing song lyrics.
Together they make a song that quickly makes it to the top of the charts, while the two fall in love and become an unlikely couple of an infantile and emotionally unstable Drew Barrymore and the older Hugh Grant easily assuming the role of a boyfriend and a father, two in one.
Maybe, it's too much to ask, but in a movie, which consists largely of music, I think, out would be fair to take extra care of the soundtrack. In case of this movie, the "hits" weren't hits at all, and they were repeated so many times that they made me sick.
