Review of Muscle Shoals (2013) by Eric H — 02 Oct 2014
One of the best documentaries on music and the true Rock n Roll art form ever. Muscle Shoals is a stamp on the very fact that music in this country today is dead. There are no more "Standards" in music today that will be remembered for years to come like much of the music of the 40's 50's 60's 70's and even the 80's.
Name me 5 memorable songs in the past 5 years? The documentary Muscle Shoals has more memorable songs in the first twenty minutes than have been written in the past ten years. Music today is canned and digitally tuned in million dollar studios with more no talent American Idol one hit wonders than at any time in our history.
All one needs today is your 15 minutes on American Idol or The Voice and a makeup artist and stylist. Muscle Shoals is an anthem to end of great American Rock n Roll and a tribute to those who enjoyed and created the art with more regard to the art form itself than to the fame they would attain.
Long live real Rock n Roll!!
