Review of MURPH: The Protector (2013) by Jl A — 24 Mar 2013
I drove over 90 miles to see Murph: The Protector this past Friday night in Charlotte, NC. Understanding that I was going to the movies to see a feature length documentary on one of our military's Medal of Honor recipients, it fulfilled my every expectation.
I first learned about Murphy by reading Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell. Murphy's actions in Operation Redwing, which culminated with him sacrificing his own life in an attempt to save his teammates, made me want to learn more about him and honor him by seeing this movie.
It's basically 1.5 hours of testimony and interviews from his closest family, friends, and comrades from the military, that take you on a journey to learn about Murphy from his childhood until his unfortunate passing, and the memorials and dedications that took place in his honor.
In my opinion, every American should see this movie to honor this true patriot! When it comes out on DVD, I will purchase it and show it to my son's when they reach an appropriate age!
