Review of Murmur of the Heart (1971) by David A — 07 Dec 2007
I have a sneaking suspicion that if Antoine Doinel had stuck around the ole homestead for a few more years he would of shared a lot in common with Laurent Chevalier. That said, he didn't, so onto Laurent.
What can I say? A very taboo subject dealt with by a master. The telling of one kid's journey from naive alter boy to incestuous womanizer...if this film is in fact a document of Louis Malle's own coming of age story, I'll never again pop a jar of Grey Poupon without calling my mom first.
Awkward.
