Review of Muriel's Wedding (1994) by Colum O — 12 Nov 2007
Porpoise Spit proves that tack is alive and well down under. This movie has the best wedding scene ever and not just because of the ABBA soundtrack, but because of Muriel's delirious happiness. This movie also has some of the cringiest and most embarassing scenes which make you want to squirm, but at the end Muriel's redemption is hugely uplifting.
Bill Hunter is wonderful as the small time politician and is worth the ticket price alone.
