Review of Muriel's Wedding (1994) by Sean C — 17 Feb 2008

Because I myself have no desire to have a wedding, and hate attending other people's weddings, I kind of can't sympathize with Muriel's fetishization of weddings, even though I do get that it's supposed to be some kind of redemptive/transformative thing for her.

I suppose the movie was ok despite leaving me cold, so I can't give it any less than the 3 star. I would have given it the 4 star had Muriel just called bullshit on the whole wedding thing and declared lesbian allegiance to cancer girl.
