Review of Muriel's Wedding (1994) by Al A — 26 Mar 2008
That muriel... what a role! I loved toni collette there, so weird and broken inside... and of course the enormous rachel griffiths (pre-6 feet under, that AMAZING series, by the way). but I loved specially the obsession for abba: intimately pathetic but strong, a sweet refuge from a cruel and hypocrit world.
.. and that musical number during the holidays! in a certain way, freedom wins, but not without any harm, and that's good, a clever point of view.
