Review of Muriel's Wedding (1994) by Ashley T — 19 Aug 2008
It had it's moments, but in general it was kind of disappointing. The overly campy opening act misleads you into thinking this is going to be a comedy, but then a heart attack and cancer turn it into a weepy melodrama.
Mamma Mia (the play! Not the movie!) did the ABBA wedding better. Despite it all, Toni Collette is fabulous as always.
