Review of Muriel's Wedding (1994) by Martin D — 01 Feb 2010
(4 stars out of 5) Kookie little movie about a dorky unpopular girl who spends her waking moments dreaming of getting married. Of course she's not popular, pretty or skinny enough so she steals money from her jerk-off father and decides to take a tropical vacation.
She learns some life lessons about herself and the people around her and grows up along the way. A well done feel good movie with some bumps along the way. Toni Collette & Rachel Griffiths shine in this film from early in their careers.
